Feel free to make local calls on the oak cabinet telephone. Use the original hand-held earpiece while speaking into the fixed mouthpiece. Although the hand-crank still operates the original brass bells, the telephone’s components were replaced in the 1970s with a rotary dial which is found within the phone. Hence, there is no need to worry about ringing the local switchboard operator to connect your call. Just dial.
